On Thursday, April 29, hip-hop artist Brother Ali will appear live, in-studio on KCOU 88.1 FM.

The interview will start at 6 p.m. and should last approximately 15-20 minutes.

Known as a progressive and compassionate voice in the underground world of hip-hop, Brother Ali has released five previous albums and recently returned from a European tour. Free samples of his music are available at www.myspace.com/brotherali.

“This album really branches out. I talk about the things my friends have gone through — drug addiction, divorce, poverty, rape. It’s about my loved ones in different situations,” Ali said of his most recent release, Us, released in 2009.

Following his KCOU appearance, Ali will take the stage at Mojo’s as KCOU presents the Breakin’ Dawn Tour. Doors are at 8:30 p.m.
