Hoping to avoid voting controversy during meetings, the Missouri Students Association may spend thousands of dollars to introduce electronic clickers to count votes.
Speaker Evan Wood said the clickers will cost at least $2,500, which would come from a reserve fund containing about $60,000 rolled over from last year. Wood said the clickers are worth the money.
“We do have a controversial vote usually just about once every Senate meeting… it can get kind of chaotic,” Wood said.
The Senate is only in the early stages of the decision-making process, and serious discussions about purchasing the clickers have not yet begun.
