The entire second phase of the MU Student Center will be open by Oct. 15, three months ahead of schedule.
The Mizzou Market, study rooms and lounges, and ‘The Shack’ gaming center will open in October, Student and Auxiliary Services spokeswoman Michelle Froese said in an e-mail obtained by KCOU News.
Froese previously said the main glass atrium, which will house five restaurants and a 600-seat food court, will open Aug. 18. That is still going to happen, Froese said.
The area of the building using the shell of the old Brady Commons structure will take the extra two months to finish. Brady Commons was closed in December 2008.
The new Student Center had been slated for completion in January 2011, before MU officials moved up the end date.
