Students at Columbia’s Jefferson Junior High are safe after the school went into a modified lockdown Wednesday morning.
Columbia Police searched lockers after getting reports that a student brought a BB gun to school. Officers say they didn’t find a gun, but that a 14-year-old eighth grade student told them he had brought the weapon to school.
Students continued their normal routine as police searched the lockers. The ordeal was over around 1 p.m.
