The Columbia Fire Department now believes the fire at Maplewood Barn began suspiciously.
Officials still don’t know what started the fire, which burned the historic building to the ground last week.
They do believe, however, that the fire is “suspicious in nature” because of recent vandalism to the theatre.
Crimes were reported at the barn several times since 1996.
