Columbia Police are undergoing an investigation regarding human remains that were discovered in the woods on the northern side of town.
The skeletal remains were discovered Saturday by a teenager near the Boone County Jail.
Police have some evidence on the identity of the remains and investigators say the clothing on the body leads them to believe the person was an adult male.
While there were no apparent signs of injury on the body, the police say they cannot yet rule out foul play.
