Columbia police say the skeleton found over the weekend has been identified.
The Columbia Tribune reported the deceased man’s name is Ronald Elic. A teen found his remains Saturday morning in a wooded area off Roger Wilson Memorial Drive.
Elic, who authorities say was 57 years old, was from Overland Park, Kansas. He’d spent time at the Boone County Jail. Boone County officials released him in July.
A Columbia Police spokeswoman says the cause of death is unknown. There’s no evidence of foul play.
