A Kansas jury convicted a man on Friday of murdering prominent abortion doctor George Tiller
Scott Roeder faces life imprisonment for killing Tiller. He says he committed the murder to save the lives of aborted children.
Roeder faces a mandatory sentence of life in prison, with a possibility of parole in 25 years. Sentencing is on March 9th.
Roeder had confessed in public even before his official admission. Roeder’s lawyers attempted to reduce the sentence to voluntary manslaughter, but they failed to convince a judge.
Tiller was one of the few doctors who performed late-term abortions.
