You will need a media player such as iTunes, QuickTime Player, Real Player, WinAmp, Windows Media Player, etc. to listen to KCOU’s online radio broadcast.
If your player supports SHOUTcast (check with the individual player for more info), click on the Lo-Fi or Hi-Fi links above. If your computer is properly setup, it should launch the appropriate player and begin streaming.
If you would like to use Windows Media Player, please try using this Windows link. It will work so long as you have version 7.1 or newer (most people will have at least version 9).
If you cannot tune in successfully, try opening your media player and use “Open Location”, “Open URL” or “Open Stream” (options often found under “File” or – in iTunes – under “Advanced”) and then try placing either one of these addresses into the field:
http://radio.kcou.fm:8180/listen.pls
http://kcou.fm/listen.asx
and then click “OK.” The first address should work 99% of the time. However, especially with Windows Media Player, the second address may be necessary. If neither work, there may actually be a problem on our end. Feel free to email a description of what you’ve tried and when it happened to problems@kcou.fm if you find yourself experiencing that.
If you would like to contact the DJ for questions, comments or requests call 573.882.8262.
If your player is constantly rebuffering, try using the Lo-Fi link instead – as your connection may not be fast enough to handle the Hi-Fi stream.
If your player keeps playing the same 10-20 seconds over and over OR you connect and hear nothing, please call the request line above and let the DJ know. They should be able to get things back up and going once they know there’s a problem!
