Getting Involved

Every semester we invite all interested university students, regardless of their academic major/focus, to get involved at KCOU. We hold informational sessions where they can learn more about the station and conduct a comprehensive training program to provide new staff members with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed at KCOU. This past year we welcomed over 90 new student staff members to KCOU, who joined our veteran staff to bring you the best in new music, Mizzou news & sports, engaging talk shows, exciting events, great contests, and lots more!

If you are interested in getting involved in KCOU, email pd@kcou.fm for more information on how to go about that. Keep in mind that there are also a number ways to work at KCOU beyond just DJ’ing, including news, sports, promotions, audio production, and underwriting/advertising/development!

2012-2013 Executive Staff

KCOU is made possible day-in and day-out by a passionate volunteer staff of over 200 students.  While the entire staff is what makes the station successful, there are a smaller number of students who are responsible for managing operations and coordinating aspects of the station ranging from programming to public events. KCOU has been a pioneer in music since the beginning and continues to be Columbia’s primary source for exciting and groundbreaking new music and artists.  Continuing that tradition takes a lot of hard work from a staff of dedicated individuals who review an endless flow of music submissions from all over the world.  If you have questions about any music in particular, please contact the relevant individual below.  If you are looking to submit music for consideration, please see our contacts page for more information on how you can go about doing so.
