One more week of college football and the Border Eight is close to wrapping up.
In Nebraska, the Huskers blew a 14-3 lead to lose to Wisconsin 15-14 on senior day. The Huskers fall to 3-8 and will not go bowling. They have not gone to a bowl game since 2016.
In Iowa, the Hawkeyes continued their winning streak and beat Minnesota on the road 13-10. If the Hawkeyes win this weekend against Nebraska, they will win the division and go to the Big Ten Championship Game.
Northwestern hit double digits losses on the season as they fell to Purdue 17-9 and are sitting at 1-10 on the year.
In state rival Illinois played one of their best games of the season last Saturday. They went into the Big House and gave Michigan everything they could handle but came up short, losing 19-17 off a last second field goal by Jake Moody for Michigan.
In the ACC, the Louisville Cardinals got their second top 25 win of the season over #24 NC State 25-10. This vaults Louisville into the top 25 at spot 25.
Down in the SEC, Vanderbilt got yet another SEC win over Florida 31-24. This is the first time Vanderbilt has won back-to-back SEC games since 2018.
Their in-state rival met a much worse fate. Tennessee closed as a 22.5 favorite over South Carolina, but very much did not cover. South Carolina came out and dismantled #5 Tennessee 63-38 behind Spencer Rattler’s six touchdown passes.
Kentucky got caught in a grudge match with the defending national champions, holding #1 Georgia to only 16 points, but fell 16-6 in their final conference game.
Arkansas bounced back in a major way after two straight losses with a win over #14 Ole Miss. Despite letting up 21 unanswered points late, it did not matter as they won 42-27 even with Ole Miss putting up over 700 yards of offense.
In the Big 12, the Sooners dominated their rivalry game versus #22 Oklahoma State 28-13 to reach bowl eligibility. The Cowboys have lost three of their last four games.
Kansas got absolutely dominated at home 55-14 to the Texas Longhorns behind four rushing touchdowns to Bijan Robinson. Kansas has lost five of their last six games.
The Wildcats got another key win on the season over West Virginia 48-31. If they beat Kansas on Saturday, they will go on to the Big 12 Championship Game.
Iowa State fell out of bowl eligibility after a grudge match loss to Texas Tech 14-10 and got the Red Raiders to six wins for the second straight season.
At the Group of Five level, the reigning MAC champions lost to Miami of Ohio 29-23. Northern Illinois is now 3-8.
In the C-USA, Western Kentucky got taken down by the Auburn Tigers 41-17 to get dropped to 7-5 on the season.
MTSU on the other hand picked up an impressive win over FAU 49-21 to reach six wins on the year.
Down in the American Athletic Conference, Memphis picked up a cupcake win over North Alabama 59-0 while Tulsa won a Friday night matchup versus USF 48-42.
Finally in the Sun Belt, Arkansas State dropped their eighth game of the season to Texas State 16-13.
