The Mizzou volleyball team won its second game of the Mizzou Invitational against Ohio on friday night in four sets, improving to 10-2 on the season.
The first set was a back and forth battle between the two teams as the teams seemed to be trading points towards the end of the set. The Tigers eventually took the set with a score of 25-23 behind the play of sophomore Leketo Member-Meneh, who led the Tigers with seven kills in the early going.
Ohio opened up the second set on a 5-0 scoring run and did not look back from there. The Tigers fought back all set, and were able to get within three points towards the end, but eventually dropped the set 25-21, tying the match at one.
The third set was different for the Tigers, as they were the team to jump out to a quick start. The Tigers seemed to cruise to a set victory, as they never trailed the Bobcats. With a score of 25-16, the Tigers jumped out to a 2-1 lead.
The Tigers got into the groove in the third set, as they jumped out to an 8-1 lead to begin the fourth set. The Bobcats only had the lead when it was 1-0, and did not regain it throughout the entire set. The Tigers wrapped up the match with a 25-12 win.
Kylie Deberg led the game with 19 kills, trailed by Member-Meneh, who finished with 18. The Tigers will be back in action at 2:30 on Saturday looking to sweep the Mizzou Invitational against the Drake Bulldogs.
