Make It Ten: Mizzou Cruises To Seventh Straight Sweep, Tenth Straight Win After Second Set Comeback Against Arkansas

By: Joshua Chodor
To say that the University of Missouri’s volleyball team is hot would be the understatement of the century. The Tigers roared to their 23rd straight set victory Sunday afternoon at Hearnes Center, 25-19, 31-29, 25-12.
A balanced Mizzou attack led by Alyssa Munlyn’s eight kills paved the way for the Tigers, who won their 15th match of the season. Munlyn’s performance was aided by Carly Kan’s seven kills, while Melanie Crow and Kira Larson each chipped in six kills.
The match was decided in the second set, when Mizzou faced multiple set points, but prevailed 31-29. The comeback kept Mizzou’s set streak alive: the Tigers have not dropped a set since September 17th. For Arkansas, the loss dropped them to a putrid 3-14 record, including falling to 1-4 in the SEC. The Razorbacks attack was led by Danielle Harbin’s fourteen kills. The senior also received help from Breana Jones and Raegan Robinson, who had nine kills apiece. Nobody else for Arkansas contributed more than three kills.
Mizzou will have to wait a week for their next match, next Sunday in Tuscaloosa against the Crimson Tide.
