Mizzou Hangs Around, But Falls Short At Arkansas

Fayetteville, Ark. and Bud Walton Arena were not kind to the visiting Missouri Tigers, as the host Arkansas Razorbacks pulled out a wire-to-wire 84-72 victory. In a game that saw Arkansas lead for the entire 40 minutes, it was no surprise the Tigers struggled in many categories of the game.

Mizzou was out-rebounded, out-hustled, and committed 10 turnovers to the Razorbacks seven. Freshman forward Kevin Puryear was one of the few bright spots for the Tigers, as he poured in 23 points to lead all scorers on the night. Namon Wright and Ryan Rosburg followed suit with 12 and 11 points respectively. Wright also tallied a team-high 12 rebounds.

Despite dealing with foul trouble throughout the majority of the game, Rosburg was still able to tally double-digit points for the fifth straight game.

The Razorbacks were paced by junior guard Dusty Hannahs, who finished with a team-high 22 points on 7-of-13 shooting and 4-of-9 from three-point range. Jabril Durham notched 17 points and six assists, while forward Moses Kingsley secured a double-double of 15 points and 12 rebounds.

The Tigers fall to 3-11 in SEC play and 10-17 overall. Arkansas improves to 6-8 in conference play and 13-14 overall.

Up next for Missouri is a trip to Oxford, Miss. to take on the Rebels of Ole Miss on Tuesday night, where they will look to avenge a gut-wrenching 76-73 to the Rebels back on Feb. 3.
