Missouri volleyball beat Auburn Friday night in four sets. Missouri won sets one, two, and four by the scores 25-21, 25-10, and 25-16. Auburn won set three by the score of 25-21.

Missouri, with the win tonight, improved their record to 17-4 overall and 7-2 in conference play. The Tigers improved their win streak to five and improved their home record to 7-0.

The Auburn Tigers had been struggling so far to begin this season, dropping to 8-11 overall and 1-8 in conference play.  They started Friday slow out of the gate, dropping the first two sets to Mizzou before winning the third set, and eventually losing the fourth set.

Missouri dominated most of the night, posting better numbers than Auburn in every category except aces- where it was out-aced 7-4. Mizzou led in kills 52-41, errors 11-24, assists 49-35, digs 60-47, and blocks 10-3.

Missouri started red hot winning the first two sets. It was able to find gaps in the Auburn defense and capitalize on them, recording 26 combined kills in sets one and two.

In the third set, Auburn was able to close the gaps defensively, and pick apart the Missouri defense. Taylor Rowland was able to finish the night with 12 kills and four digs.

Missouri’s Kylie DeBerg was the MVP of the night- she had five kills in the first set alone, and stayed hot the rest of the night ending with a total of fourteen kills, three aces, and twelve digs. Leketor Member-Meneh had fourteen kills in the game with most coming in the third and fourth sets of the game.
