Missouri hockey fell Saturday to the St. Louis University Billikens in overtime by a score of 3-2.
Through the first period, Mizzou couldn’t capitalize on three power plays and a few good scoring chances.
At the 11:08 mark of the second period, right-winger Glen Ryan found the back of the net to open the scoring and put the Tigers ahead of the Billikens 1-0.
SLU caught Mizzou in a line switch and capitalized with a goal at 16:03 by Niall Caparon to tie the game at one. The assist went to Alex Smith.
Mizzou responded to the SLU goal and a penalty with a power play goal at 18:49 by center Ryan Hodges.
At 12:28, following a tiger penalty and unsportsmanlike call, Caparon scored for the second time, this time on the power play, to tie it at two.
With 27 seconds left in the overtime period, Caparon got his hat trick on a long wrist shot to down the Tigers. Smith assisted for the second time in the match.
Next up, the Tigers will face off against Southern Illinois-Edwardsville on Feb. 5-6 in the last two home matches of the year.
