The Mizzou Tigers remain undefeated during this regular season as they roll to a 44 victory over the Wagner Seahawks 99-55. The Tigers led from the outset as they led by 16 in the first 10 minutes of the game and continued to build on that lead throughout. Led in the first half by Kassius Robertson and Jontay Porter they jumped out to a 54-21 point lead at the end of the first half as the second half followed suit of the first half with more hustle and effort from the Tigers.

At his weekly press conference, head coach Barry Odom praised his young freshman talent and showed faith in his team to get to bowl eligibility. After a dominant win over Tennessee, Missouri’s head coach Barry Odom looked relieved to be able to walk up to the podium after yet another victory for his Tigers. In his opening statement, Odom was quick to praise the performance of the run game and just as quick to recognize the missed opportunities in the passing game.
Rugby is a sport that flows like soccer and plays like football. It’s not a sport appreciated by the majority of American sports fans. Still, it’s found a niche following in clubs and universities across the nation. Mizzou’s club rugby squad has seen tremendous success in recent seasons. Just last year, the team made it to the final four in their collegiate division. In 2017, the team is off to a 3-1 start. On October 28, the team did battle in a tight game against Iowa State resulting in a 17-15 victory.
Women’s basketball hosted their first exhibition game of the year Monday night in Mizzou Arena against McKendree University. With men’s basketball generating so much excitement, the women look to solidify their top 20 preseason ranking. They currently sit at 16 in the AP poll. All-SEC guard Sophie Cunningham got off to a fast start, stuffing the stat sheet with 4 points, a steal, an assist, and 2 boards early. The rest of the Tigers started on fire behind the arc, going 4-7 from behind the arc in the first quarter. They also forced 6 turnovers, which were converted into 12 points. It all added up to a 31 to 7 Tigers lead after the first quarter.
On Oct. 11, one day after the U.S. men’s national soccer team lost to Trinidad and Tobago, former U.S. national team member and current Fox Sports analyst Alexi Lalas joined Colin Cowherd on the set of Cowherd’s podcast show “The Herd” to talk about the team’s failure to qualify for the 2018 World Cup. “I woke up this morning and I physically ached,” Lalas said. “It was a disappointment and a sadness and a shame. This team, they failed themselves, they failed the sport and they failed the country.”
The mood at the Missouri men’s basketball media day Tuesday could be defined as excitement.
“I’m ready to go,” junior guard Terrence Phillips said. “I want to get this thing started.”
Phillips is one of the veterans on this young team. He said that disagreements between the veterans and the newer players on the team haven’t been a problem. Two scrimmages against Kansas and Wisconsin have given the team plenty of opportunities to play with one another and see what works.
The 16th-ranked Missouri Tigers opened up its season with a 77-55 exhibition victory over Southwest Baptist University. The Tiger’s dominance on the boards, out-rebounding the Bearcats 46-28, perfectly illustrates how they handled this one with relative ease. Lauren Aldridge set the tone for the Tigers, with a 3-pointer for the first points of the game, in her long awaited debut in the black and gold, after sitting out last season due to NCAA transfer regulations.
