Missouri softball shutout the Oregon Ducks by a score 8-0 Sunday afternoon. The game ended in five innings. Starting pitcher hurled a no-hitter for Missouri, and Third baseman sophomore Kimberly Wert’s grand slam sealed the win for the Tigers.
The win gives host Missouri a 2-2 record at the Mizzou tournament and a 21-16 record for the season.
Wert had a game high four RBI, including that grand slam to give the Tigers their first four runs of the game in the bottom of the 3rd inning. She increased her season homer total to an impressive 15 with the blast.

Oregon faced a bases loaded from the Tigers earlier in the 1st inning, but could not dodge a bases loaded in the 3rd inning.
The win helps Missouri gain some cushion for the standings in the 2019 SEC Tournament. The Tigers now boast a conference record of 6-6. Missouri will face the Illinois Fighting Illini in a doubleheader in St. Charles, Missouri on Tuesday. It’s the to third-to-last non-conference game of the season. The team then travels to Oxford, Mississippi in a three game series against Ole Miss Rebels in a three-game weekend series.
