Seniors were honored at Mizzou Arena as Missouri women’s basketball team took on Ole Miss in a matchup of two teams that have been struggling this season. Mizzou grabbed a win over Vanderbilt last week in Nashville Thursday for its first win  since the beginning of the month. 
The Tigers got off to a fast start in the opening stages of the game and never looked back, shooting 51% from the field. 
Aijha Blackwell contributed 20 points for the Tigers and fellow teammate Haley Frank had 22 points. 

Mizzou dominated on the offensive side of the game, gaining 33 points in the paint and grabbing rebounds off the glass. 
Ole Miss was able to cut the lead down to 10 points in the second half, but the contributions from Blackwell, Amber Smith, and Hannah Schuchts were too much for the Rebels to deal with. 
Coach Robin Pingeton seemed proud of her team after the game, despite this year’s season not going the way many expected. 
“This is about our seniors, I appreciate all that they have done off and on the court. They feed off each other and see their growth,” Pingeton said postgame.
Fellow freshman Hayley Frank knew that Mizzou needed to keep the same energy that the team had in the first half into the second half to get an important victory. 
“We had to come out in the second half that we wanted to win this game, and that we were going to play to win,” Frank said.
The Tigers also were red hot from the three-point line, averaging around 33% and making shots that mattered in the draining minutes of each quarter. 
Up next for the Tigers is a matchup with Auburn in Columbia on Thursday night as they try to ride momentum heading into the SEC Women’s Tournament in Greenville, South Carolina. 
Ole Miss plays Tennessee on Thursday, trying to look for their first conference win of the 2020 campaign.
