It was a night of the right fielders as Mizzou’s Trey Harris led the offensive charge with three homers in a 9-8 victory over No. 10 Kentucky on Saturday at Taylor Stadium.  The three homers gave Harris a team-leading 11, which is also a career high for the junior slugger.
Kentucky’s right fielder, Tristan Pampey, had two bombs of his own in a losing effort.  Junior catcher Brett Bond added two solo homers for the Tigers.
Michael Plassmeyer started for Mizzou and had a rough outing, throwing just two innings before being pulled after allowing three early homers.  He was rocked back on his heels from the very beginning as his first offering of the game was blasted out to dead-center by the aforementioned Pampey.
TJ Sikkema came on in relief of Plassmeyer.  The lefty would end up allowing five runs, but pitched the remaining six innings to earn the win and preserve the bullpen.
Kentucky southpaw Zach Logue took the loss, throwing 5 1/3 innings and giving up seven runs.  The win evened the weekend series at one game apiece, and pushed the Tigers record to 26-10 overall and 7-7 in SEC play.
