B. Cool-Aid – holditin|out (DUALITY)

B. Cool-Aid, the sun-dried LA duo consisting of beat maker Ahwlee and rapper Pink Siifu, recently dropped a new EP called “BRWN.” Strapped with sounds that range from D’Angelo to Outkast, this hazy release stands out among the sea of main-stream hip-hop.

One track in particular, called “holditin|out,” displays Siifus’ incredible ability to diversify his flow and overall mood. There is a strong sense of duality in this track, which ultimately captures the theme of the album as a whole. The intent behind “BRWN,” as Siifu puts it, is “to show appreciation, admiration, to embrace, and to understand a new perspective of what we all have seen, lived, or been raised up under,” and this is just one of the many tracks on the EP that does just that.
