Mixing Her Way Into the Industry: Tinashe

Tinashe

You may be familiar with the captivating pull of her soulful dance beat, or maybe with the smooth and fearless way she works a track. Tinashe’s first single “2 On,” with a little help from Schoolboy Q, has been infiltrating the radio waves recently, quickly putting her on the map. This Kentucky born, LA resident is one artist you want to keep your eye on.

Establishing roots as a vocal actress and model, she went on to work her way into the music industry. Tinashe built her name as an artist with her contemporary R&B style, and after the success of her recent mix tape releases, she earned herself a record deal. The twenty-one year old is set to do some big things in the upcoming years, beginning with her first album, Aquarius. With all the buzz surrounding this newcomer, make sure to keep your ears listening – I have a feeling you’ll be hearing a lot more of Tinashe, with her silky tenor and special spunk.

Taylor is a pre-journalism freshman who loves music and writing. She had never thought about involving herself in radio before, but decided that it’s a really cool mix of her passions. She doesn’t go a day without listening to music and tries to write as much as she can. She’s looking forward to the school year and all the opportunities that come with it.
