Nick Hook – Can’t Tell Me Nothing (feat. Novelist)

Nick Hook’s “Can’t Tell Me Nothing” packs a delightful bounce in the instrumental department with English grime MC Novelist hopping on the vocals. Recorded in Hook’s New York studio, Novelist first linked up with Hook at the young age of 18. Right out of the gate, we get a taste of a fast-paced, catchy synth hook that is complimented by knocking 808 drums, crescendoing into machine gun rhymes from Novelist. The track boasts lyrics of self-empowerment, and an aggressive dismissal to anyone and anything getting in the way. “No one can tell me nothing Blud, I don’t wanna hear ’bout nothing!” Hook’s full-length album, Relationships, released last year on Fool’s Gold and comprises a wide array of features and unique beats to boot. You can check out the music video here.
