My name is Charlie Warner. I am the business director for the station, and have been a member for two years. I’m super passionate about spreading lesser known music and fostering a local music scene. Besides KCOU, I’m in a band myself, called Pink Houses. On my show, Warner’s World, I work to highlight independent artists within the different branches of Americana music (music with influence from jazz, gospel, blues, country, and rock ‘n’ roll). I play a lot of my favorite bands, such as Twin Peaks, The Replacements and the Grateful Dead. Each show I try to compile playlists of songs I haven’t played before to keep the show fresh and non-repetitive. I’ll come up with themes such as spring songs or songs with my favorite drum parts.
