The Most Americ6n Preview, Week 6: Dumpster fire Bowl

With Tulane and Houston already playing Thursday night (spoiler alert: Houston won), there are only two more games going on in the American this next week. And, while I am always happy to watch some American Athletic Conference games, the teams playing this weekend have a combined record of 2-6, and one has not even played a single game yet.

Temple (-3.5) @ Navy

Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium, Annapolis, Maryland on Saturday, October 10 @ 5:00 PM CST

Temple may be favored in this matchup, but do not count your chickens before they roost, as there is an incredible amount still not known about this Temple Owls team. The only certainty is that barring unforeseen circumstances, Anthony Russo should be the quarterback in his Junior campaign. He was one of the best quarterbacks in the American two years ago during his Freshman year but struggled at times last year with flashes back to greatness. On the defensive side, Temple has always been well suited to stop the triple option, but the question then becomes have they had enough practice to help them. However, with how Navy has played this year with their weird practice requirements, I would expect Temple to come out ahead in this one.

Prediction: Temple 31 – 21 Navy

ECU (+4.5) @ USF

Raymond James Stadium, Tampa, Florida on Saturday, October @ 6:00 PM CST

The Dumpster Fire Bowl of the year looks like it is coming early this year, as USF and ECU have both had no luck being anywhere near competitive in their losses. The only saving grace for USF is that they have their win against The Citadel, and the two teams they have lost to have been highly ranked. Still, there is a lot left to be desired. That and the fact that ECU keeps losing by multiple scores leads me to believe USF will come out on top, but in the end, does anybody win?

Pow6r Game of the Week: ECU @ USF

I have honestly become morbidly curious in this game and the fact that, at the end of the day, somehow one team has to win.
