Students from Mizzou and around the Midwest gathered for a 36-hour non-stop coding competition. The objective of the competition was to create a new program, app or product that would integrate modern technology with the field of journalism. The team organizing TigerHacks partnered with the Reynolds Journalism Institute, Microsoft and Major League Hacking to help fund and organize the event. Students that participated in TigerHacks are eligible to submit their project to the RJI app building competition, which continues for the entire second semester.
