Drew Brackett – Sports Director – sports@kcou.fm Drew is a junior broadcast journalism major at MU. Sports Programing
Overtime- Weekdays from 4:30-5:30 p.m. Overtime is KCOU’s daily sports wrap-up show that plays within The Pulse. We will give you all the latest in MU and Missouri sports. The main focus is news but up-to-the-minute scores are provided for in-progess games. Tune in to see what you have missed while you were in class.
The 5th Down – Sundays 4 to 6 p.m. The hosts come and go, but The Fifth Down lives on. The Fifth Down has been a staple show on KCOU with a tradition that dates back to before 2004. The show injects humor into its stories. Though they can be irreverent, their guest list is nothing but serious, with executive director of Baseball America Jim Callis, MU alum and ESPN college football contributor Pat Forde, and Gabe DeArmond from PowerMizzou.com.

Positions
Sports Updates - Throughout the weekday, we air sports updates at the bottom of the hour. These updates are 2-3 minutes of sports scores and news, plus a preview of the night’s sports action. Positions are open Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. If you would like a specialty update show (i.e., only cover the NFL) talk with Parker or Max.
Beat Reporter - All of the teams we cover with play-by-play broadcasts will have 1 or 2 dedicated beat reporters assigned to a team. These individuals will attend press conferences, media days, and the like to create stories or clips to be aired. They will also serve as experts on the team they cover, and be interviewed by the sports show hosts to give their listeners insight into the team they cover.
Sports Show Host – We only have a few sports shows for fall 2010. You can read their capsules above. The hosts provide insight and commentary on the major sports news of the week, with an emphasis on all in-season MU sports. The producer has many responsibilities, including creating the rundown for each show, lining up interviews/guests, running the board, and managing the station breaks.
Sports Broadcaster - The sports broadcasters provide live play-by-play and color commentary for MU games. Typically the broadcasters will switch off play-by-play duties while the others provide color. Some games will not air live and instead will be recorded to post on the website above. In that case, an in-studio producer is not needed. However, for all live air games a producer is needed in the studio to manage breaks, record the show for posting online and provide other score updates during halftime.
