If you’ve spent any time around Columbia’s house show scene, you’ve probably heard the name Pink Houses floating around. The University of Missouri’s rock band has been building a steady following with its high-energy sets and a sound that draws from across the rock spectrum. The group came together in 2024 after guitarists Josh Stotler and Charlie Warner met in a music class. Over time, they connected with drummer Max Healy, vocalist Charlie Bickel, and bassist Raph Sternadori through dorm life, mutual friends, and KCOU. What started as practice sessions in Stotler’s living room turned into something much bigger, with the band spending just as much time talking through ideas as they do actually playing, making sure everyone has a voice in the process. That collaborative approach has helped shape their upbeat, melodic sound, blending punk energy with indie pop influences. Known for mixing original songs with fun, familiar covers, Pink Houses quickly went from backyard shows to packed local lineups, proving how strong Columbia’s live music scene really is. After recording their first EP, Roadrunner, in January 2025 and releasing their newest single “Curse” in February 2026, the band keeps building momentum, and this Friday at the Blue Note, performing for F88 is the perfect chance to see what they’re all about live.
