Teebs – E S T A R A
I listened to E S T A R A and I tried to imagine what this album would look like.
This album dropped me off in the trees of the jungle canopy and in the sky at the same time. Yet it’s hard to even describe if I was happy or sad while I was there. It makes me feel more like a curious traveler, like everything I’m seeing is brand new to me. A self-guided vehicle, powered by the fluttering noises and high end tinkling of the music, takes me on scenic tour of a forest of clouds. As tension builds with the pounding drum hits my “cloud boat” would be approaching a new object, maybe a tunnel maybe the top of a large skyscraper whose base is hidden from view. The listener is the lone passenger in this boat however. The adventure that I am embarked on is one that feels lonely, but not in a melancholy way. Experiencing the different sights and sounds of this ride is something that is enjoyed only when you have solely yourself to interpret your surroundings. Every new discovery upon the path feels significant as the music takes my mind to a solemn place. As the boat takes me further into the cloud forests I feel very comfortable. Maybe this boat contains a satin chair. I can recline and casually look out the sides much like a commercial airliner without any of the discomfort. I never feel sleepy along this journey however because everything I see is intriguing. Every cloud is unique and pleasing to the eye and all I feel is relaxation.
That’s kinda what E S T A R A is like.
